Smoke-Kissed Shrimp Kabobs

All recipes require use of one pre-soaked grilling plank, prepared according to instructions.

  • 24 large shrimps or prawns
  • 1 red bell pepper washed and chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 yellow bell pepper washed and chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 sweet onion chopped into bite sized pieces
  • ½ lemon
  • Sprinkle of salt and pepper
  • 8 bamboo skewers
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions:

  1. Alternate shrimp and veggies on skewers (about three shrimp per skewer).
  2. Spritz kabobs with lemon and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Place on grill heated to medium. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. While kabobs are cooking, heat a saucepan to medium heat with butter and garlic.
  5. As butter melts and garlic just starts to brown, quickly add soy sauce and brown sugar.
  6. Stir an additional minute or two until sugar melts and sauce begin to thicken.
  7. Turn heat to lowest, stirring occasionally until kabobs are finished.
  8. Liberally coat finished kabobs with sauce, serve, and enjoy!
